Team Staff - recruitment & assessment

Job Descriptions linking to Coach Evaluations

Recruiting and retaining quality team staff is a big challenge for associations. Below are some resources that can be adapted to suit your needs.

Coaching is a huge commitment and involves a lot of responsibility. By clearly outlining expectations, and then soliciting feedback from athletes that mirrors the expectations, you are more likely to see accurate results and create a culture among team staff and families.

Below are links for a job description and suggested coaching applications to ask. They are divided roughly by LTAD stage

A sample coach evaluation is below. It includes an extensive multiple-choice section that reflects the soft skills that are outlined in the application. Coaches are being told what is expected and then evaluated on that criteria.

Using fewer open-ended and more scripted questions will ensure that these aspects are touched on by all respondents. It also makes the evaluation a bit less daunting to folks who don't want to think about a lot of things to write about.

This copies quite well into a Google Form.
