Ringette at the Canada Winter Games
The Games happen every four years and are a huge moment for the country’s top young athletes to showcase their skills. For ringette, this is where the best in the nation gather to represent their provinces. It’s an intense and exciting stepping-stone for those looking to reach international competition. Many of the athletes you see at the Canada Winter Games are the future stars of our National Junior and Senior teams.

2027 Canada Winter Games in Quebec City
Mark your calendars - the next Games are set for February 26 to March 15, 2027, in Quebec City.

Athletes born in 2007, 2008, 2009, or 2010 can try out for Team Alberta.

We’ll be selecting 18 athletes who will have the chance to represent our province on the national stage.

Athlete Evaluation and Self-ID Process

For the 2027 cycle, we’ve made some updates to the athlete evaluation format.

Athletes will be assessed during two RAB Cups (in 2025 and 2026), with additional fitness testing happening during both events and again in late 2025.

Scouting will also take place at league, tournament, and provincial games throughout the season.

Athlete Exemption Request Form

Are You Ready to Say "YES" to This?

Before you self-ID, ask yourself if you’re a YES to these questions:

  • Am I ready to compete at the AAA level, the highest level of play for my age group?
  • Am I committed to training and development over the next two years?
  • Do I have the fitness and technical skills to keep up with the demands of high-performance play?
  • Am I prepared to be evaluated at the RAB Cups and through fitness testing?
  • Can I commit to attending selection camps, tournaments, and training sessions regularly?
  • Am I excited and driven to represent Alberta at the Canada Winter Games?

If you’re nodding along to all these, it’s time to self-ID and start your journey to the 2027 Games!

How to Self-ID

  1. Read the Athlete Self ID package in full. Application is found in package.

Please Note:

RAB Cup programming will be the same for all registered participants, with the exception of fitness testing (additional cost) for athletes who self ID.
